Democrats have a compelling vision for a country that protects our freedoms, respects our families, and makes our futures better – in contrast to MAGA Republicans who want to take away our freedoms, harm our families, and decide our futures for us.

The Democrats
Democrats believe that we should have elections that are run freely and fairly, and that all Americans should have the freedom to cast a vote, have their votes fairly counted, and ensure that the will of the people prevails.
MAGA RepublicansSince 2020, Republicans have proposed 262 bills in 41 states that limit, politicize and even criminalize the nonpartisan administration of elections, including criminalizing giving water to people waiting in long voting lines. Just in 2024, "lawmakers in 40 states have considered at least 291 restrictive bills" according to the nonpartisan Brennan Center for Justice.

The Democrats
The decision about whether and when to start a family is deeply and profoundly personal. Democrats believe it should be a decision between a woman, her family, and her doctor. With a Democratic controlled House and Senate, the right and access to contraception will be protected, as well as the right to IVF treatments.
MAGA RepublicansFor the past 50 years, Republicans and their aligned interest groups have been working to remove reproductive rights from women, and are now beginning to criminalize those seeking abortion care. Under the Republican-led House, 195 House Republicans voted against the right to protect condoms, the pill and IUDs. Almost every Republican senator voted against protecting birth control, and 12 Republican led states blocked or vetoed the bill.

The Democrats
Democrats believe everyone should have the freedom to feel safe in their communities. Elected leaders are prioritizing the investments we need in anti-violence programs, and ensuring police are trained and able to protect and serve our communities. Democrats take the “well-regulated” part of the 2nd amendment seriously, including passing the first gun control legislation in decades and now fighting for renewing the lapsed ban on assault rifles.
MAGA Republicans
The Republican plan of ever increasing inequality, cuts to services, unlimited access to guns, and removing public accountability safeguards for police makes everyone less safe.

Building a safe and fair system that respects families. Tackling the root causes of immigration pressures: global violence, the flow of guns, and climate change.
MAGA Republicans
Republican attacks on and defunding of the legal immigration and asylum system is a direct cause of the chaos at the border, leading to ever-increasing militarization and scapegoating immigrants.

The Democrats
Social Security and Medicare are benefits that we pay for out of our pockets our whole lives. Seniors deserve the sacred trust that Social Security represents. Americans who work for a living have invested our whole lives and deserve to retire in dignity.
MAGA Republicans
Head of the National Republican Senate Committee Senator Rick Scott has proposed ending both Social Security and Medicare every five years, and Trump proposed cuts to earned benefits in every one of his budgets while President.

The Democrats
Democrats are fighting for all families to have the freedom to drink clean water, breathe safe air, and live in healthy communities. Biden-Harris passed the biggest clean energy plan ever and has done more than any other U.S. presidential administration to fight climate change. The Biden-Harris plan will save the average American family over $1,000 a year (over $80 a month) on energy bills.
MAGA Republicans
The Republicans’ plan for a second Trump term as laid out in Project 2025 includes rolling back climate policies by withdrawing from international climate agreements and promoting fossil fuel extraction. They would dismantle the EPA, cutting regulations designed to protect the environment and public health, including clean energy initiatives. And their plan ignores the disproportionate impact of environmental degradation on marginalized communities.
What about the economy?
Vice President Harris and Democrats have been working to lower prices and create a more fair tax system so that everyone can have a better life. The top priorities of Trump and MAGA Republicans are more tax cuts for the wealthy and imposing a Trump sales tax that will make life less affordable for most Americans. The Harris/Walz Opportunity Economy plan calls for making life easier for American families, lowering costs, continuing to create good jobs, and expanding family care to make it more affordable for families raising kids.

The Democrats
Democrats will keep fighting for action on the wealthy corporations that are raising your prices and then bragging about outsized profits on earning calls. Democrats passed the Inflation Reduction Act, the first significant US climate legislation that will also lead to lower costs for prescription drugs, healthcare and energy costs for families. As Governor, Tim Walz has done more to help families get ahead than any other statewide leader in recent memory. He lowered the cost of insulin to $35 per month for many Minnesotans. He eliminated junk fees. And, he signed paid time to care into law so that parents can take care of sick families without losing their job.
MAGA Republicans
Republicans have done nothing to tackle the cost of living for families, and have ZERO plans to do so. Their Project 2025 agenda includes more tax cuts benefiting billionaires and large corporations, cutting funding for Medicaid and other social assistance programs, opposing federal mandates for paid family leave, leaving it to the discretion of employers, and cutting funding for programs that support affordable childcare options for working families.

Democrats believe everyone should have a place to call home. Shelter is a human need. No matter what we look like or what’s in our wallets, we should all have the freedom to get and keep a roof over our heads. We should not be forced to choose between feeding our families and sleeping safe at night. VP Harris plan includes supporting building 3 million more housing units where more supply is needed, cracking down on greedy landlords who are artificially spiking the cost of rent, and offering $25,000 in down payment assistance for first-time home buyers.MAGA Republicans
Corporate greed makes housing too expensive. MAGA Republicans rig the rules for corporate donors who gouge prices and rents, hold down wages, and rake in record profits, making it impossible for many of us to afford a place to live. Then they point the finger at people struggling to make ends meet for the problems that a wealthy few have created. Democrats will take on corporate landlords who make it impossible for us to afford a home and force families onto the streets.

Under Biden-Harris leadership, Americans have been averaging record 415k jobs created per month since inauguration, and 275k/month since the pre-pandemic peak jobs level was surpassed in June 2022. These are the hottest job creation numbers of any president since WW2.
MAGA Republicans
Fewer than 5% of all new jobs since the Berlin Wall fell in 1989 have been created under Republican presidents. Republicans are the party of recessions, deficits, low wages, and pain.

Passed the CHIPS act — a bill supported by 89% of Americans. It's the first step in bringing manufacturing back to the US.13 And it’s already working.
MAGA Republicans
Trump and his cronies talk a lot about manufacturing jobs, but their record shows a history of lies, self-dealing, corruption, and failures to deliver.

The bills passed by the Democrats includes making the richest corporations — many which have paid nothing in taxes for the past few years — pay what they owe. he Harris economic plan also calls for restoring the Child Tax Credit, which helps ensure no child lives in poverty.
MAGA Republicans
Under Trump, the Republicans’ single priority was a massive tax giveaway to the mega-wealthy and big corporations. If enacted, the tax plans in Project 2025 would raise taxes on millions of poor and working Americans. They also support defunding the IRS to enable tax cheats and make it slower to get refunds.

Democrats believe in our freedom to join together in union, and our freedom to negotiate a fair return on our work so we can provide for our families. President Biden was the first President in U.S. history to join a picket line of striking workers, and the Harris-Walz 100 day agenda includes passing the PRO Act to protect working people’s right to organize.
MAGA Republicans
The Project 2025 plan includes undermining labor protections such as: rescinding regulations that protect working people from discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity; reducing OSHA’s power to enforce workplace safety standards; opposing efforts to raise the federal minimum wage; and removing overtime protections giving employers the choice to no longer pay overtime to hourly workers.
